Greg

My name is Greg I work in the building trade. When I have any time off I like to come and help at ArtWorks. I am hands on with the service users and they are always keen to learn to use new tools and equipment. I love to support them to complete work placements like renovations and recently we did a placement chopping trees down and building paths in a forest.

Kat

My name is Kat and i'm an artist. I work with special effects and costume design. I love spending time with the guys at ArtWorks. Everyone is so enthusiastic and willing to get stuck in. I like sharing my skills and teaching them new techniques. It's great to see how creative everyone is.

Sarah

My name is Sarah and my sister is a service user at ArtWorks. I've loved spending time getting to know Cathy's friends. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. I love the work that ArtWorks do and the variety of activities and opportunities that are available to all that attend.

Esther

My name is Esther and I'm a volunteer at ArtWorks. I help to support Liz and Kayleigh to coordinate workshops for our service users. Im a film graduate with a background in art, film and photography. I'm a youth mentor and I have a passionate for young people in the arts. I'm inspired by the tremendous work that goes on at ArtWorks and its impact on the lives of our service users. I look forward to its exciting future.

Sarah

I'm Sarah and I volunteer at ArtWorks. I love taking time away from my day job to help out at ArtWorks. It's so much fun and rewarding. I like helping people reach their potentials. It gives great satisfaction. I love that each time I come down there is something completely different going on. All my colleagues are jealous when I tell them what i've been up to at ArtWorks.

Stewart

Hello my name is Stewart. I'm recently retired from a long career in sales and finance where I enjoyed building good working relationships with colleagues and customers.

Now that I'm retired I am able to volunteer at Artworks Sheffield. I thoroughly enjoy my time spent with the service users, helping them to engage in activities both at the centre and wider afield. The days at Artworks are fun filled and very rewarding, I get back just as much as I put in. We all have a good laugh.

Anna

My name is Anna and I am an artist. For as long as I can remember I have loved drawing or painting whether on paper, in the sand, or on the blackboard at school. Using pencil, pen, brush, watercolor and oil paints, each time I tried something new. Mixing styles and colors to find the unique balance which gave me a feeling of happiness.

I love spending time with the people at ArtWorks and sharing my skills and passion for the arts. Their are many talented people there who are willing to learn.

Charlotte

My name is Charlotte. I love coming to Sheffield and volunteering my time with the service users at ArtWorks. I've had some fantastic experiences including helping at Sheffield Doc\Fest and spending a week with everyone at Centre Parcs. I'm looking forward to volunteering more of my time in 2017.

My name is Michelle and I love spending time at ArtWorks. I have known many of the service users for a number of years and it's great to see them develop personally through all the fun and exciting opportunities provided at ArtWorks. Every time I volunteer we do something completly different.

Jackie

I'm Jackie. I live in Newcastle but take regular trips to Sheffield to pop in and help out at ArtWorks. They do so many different and exciting activities. I love helping the service users develop their skills and to take part in new experiences. Everyone makes me feel so welcome each time I visit. When i'm back home I love to keep up to date with everything that's going on.

Sandie

Hello my name is Sandie. I volunteer once a week and support the service users to create textile crafts using the sewing machine. I am very impressed with the quality of work that is produced by each of the service users. It's lovely to see them develop and gain confidence week by week.

Jamie

I'm Jamie. I recently volunteered on the ArtWorks holiday to Centre Parcs. I loved spending time with the group and supporting them to take part in all the activities. It was an action packed week and everyone had so much fun. All the service users are so welcoming and make you feel part of the ArtWorks family. Can't wait for the next trip away!

I am Charles Otieno, I originated from Kenya in Africa. I have a passion for working with people in the communities around me especially those in vulnerable groups. I enjoy volunteering at ArtWorks because I am gaining new skills and I also work alongside ArtWorks team to bring out the best of the people who have special needs and the community.
